Senior Engineer

As a Senior Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting package managers and overseeing multiple section engineers while managing site-based duties for the BRF Project. Your primary focus will be on delivering essential safety measures that protect airport colleagues, including resurfacing, lining, safety barrier, and handrail installations. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will work closely with site supervision to ensure works are executed safely, on time, and in accordance with design specifications and stakeholder approvals.

You will be responsible for managing permits, risk assessments (RAMS), quality assurance (QA) procedures, and package delivery. Collaboration with commercial and planning teams is essential to optimise programme delivery, identify risks and opportunities, and maintain budget control. Leading day and night shift activities, you will ensure efficient sequencing and short-term programming aligned with the overall project schedule.

A key part of your role will be to coach and support engineers within your packages, fostering continuous improvement and best practice adoption. You will champion health, safety, sustainability, and environmental standards, promoting a culture of personal safety and wellbeing. Skills:
Proven experience managing site-based engineering teams and package delivery
Strong knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
Ability to manage permits, RAMS, and QA documentation effectively
Experience in short-term programming and sequencing of works
Competence in risk and opportunity management within project programmes
Excellent leadership, coaching, and team development skills
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
Budget monitoring and commercial awareness
Ability to manage day and night shift operations
Commitment to promoting a collaborative “one team” culture aligned with client values

Software/Tools:
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Project management and scheduling tools (e.g. Primavera P6, MS Project) - desirable

Certifications & Standards:
CSCS card (desirable)
SMSTS or equivalent health and safety certification (desirable)
Familiarity with Heathrow Airport safety and operational standards (advantageous)
