An innovative secondary school in Newham is seeking a creative and energetic Music Teacher for a full-time, permanent role starting in September 2026. This position is ideal for a practitioner who wants to lead high-quality performances while maintaining a rigorous academic approach to musicology and composition.

Responsibilities

• Teach Music across KS3 to KS5, balancing performance skills with written theory and composition.

• Oversee and direct school ensembles, choirs, and extracurricular music clubs.

• Build student confidence and communication skills through inclusive and challenging lessons.

• Work collaboratively with the wider Creative Arts team on school-wide festivals and projects.

• Manage the department budget for instruments, software, and visiting professional workshops.

Requirements

• Degree in Music or a related field.

• PGCE or QTS.

• Experience directing or coordinating school-wide performances is highly desirable.

• Must have the right to work in the UK.
