Are you a vigilant and dedicated professional looking for a rewarding career in security? The Investigation Officer plays a vital role in maintaining the safety and integrity of the estate's internal spaces. This officer is responsible for access control, internal patrols, alarm response and incident escalation. The role requires strong situational awareness, excellent communication skills, and professional interaction with tenants, staff, and contractors. Officers must be physically fit, prepared to work indoors and across multiple buildings, and capable of responding swiftly to security issues while maintaining a calm, professional demeanour
About the Role:
As a Security Investigations Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Provide a visible, professional presence and deliver excellent customer service during all interactions.
- Offer guidance and directions to visitors, ensuring smooth access to buildings and estate facilities.
- Collaborate with other security personnel and estate staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Report hazards, incidents, suspicious activity, or notable interactions to the Control Room for appropriate logging and follow-up.
- Uphold all security protocols while maintaining professionalism, vigilance, and discretion.
- Conduct regular internal patrols across designated buildings, checking doors, plant rooms, stairwells, and sensitive areas.
- Monitor and enforce access control procedures and challenge unauthorised individuals
- Respond to internal alarms and building system alerts in line with protocol.
- Investigate minor security incidents and provide accurate verbal updates to the Control Room.
- Support fire alarm response and evacuation drills as required.
- Liaise with building staff, contractors, and tenants in a professional and helpful manner.
- Report facilities or maintenance issues through the building management system.
- Ensure secure handover and logging of keys, radios, and access credentials at start and end of shift.

What we are looking for:
- An understanding of the principles of equality and diversity in relation to visitors' needs.
- Interest in and commitment to the work of Wilson James for its clients
- Previous security experience (beneficial).
- Valid SIA DS/CCTV
- Able to write clear reports
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-focused with the ability to remain calm in emergencies.
- Strong situational awareness and sound judgement.
- Professional appearance and behaviour.
- Able to patrol large buildings and respond to incidents.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
