Attendance Officer | Outstanding Secondary School | Croydon
An exceptional Outstanding secondary school in Croydon is seeking to appoint a dedicated Attendance Officer to join its experienced pastoral team from October Half Term 2026.

Working closely with senior leaders, Heads of Year and families, the successful candidate will play a key role in promoting excellent attendance, supporting students to overcome barriers to learning and ensuring every pupil has the opportunity to thrive.
The Role
The Attendance Officer will lead the school's day-to-day attendance processes, ensuring accurate records are maintained while supporting students to improve attendance and punctuality.
Responsibilities include:
Monitoring daily attendance and following up on unexplained absences
Working with students, parents and carers to improve attendance and punctuality
Producing attendance reports and identifying trends for senior leaders
Supporting attendance meetings and intervention strategies
Maintaining accurate attendance records using the school's MIS
Liaising with external agencies where appropriate
Ensuring attendance procedures comply with statutory guidance

The Successful Candidate
The school is looking for an organised, approachable and proactive individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Previous experience in attendance, school administration, pastoral support or a similar role would be advantageous. Experience using Arbor, SIMS or Bromcom is desirable, although full training will be provided for the right candidate. Above all, the school is seeking someone who is committed to supporting young people and building positive relationships with families.
Salary & Benefits
£30,000 – £35,000 per annum
