An established and well-regarded three-form entry primary school in Barnet is seeking a full-time Year 4 Teacher to join their team from April 2026 on a maternity cover basis . The post will run for the duration of the maternity leave, with an exact end date to be confirmed.

The Role

The school is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Year 4 Teacher to join a strong Key Stage 2 team. As part of a three-form entry structure, you will benefit from shared planning , established schemes of work , and the support of experienced colleagues .

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering engaging, high-quality lessons for Year 4 pupils.
• Assessing and tracking pupil progress to ensure all learners achieve their potential.
• Working collaboratively with parallel Year 4 teachers and the wider KS2 team to plan and share best practice.
• Creating a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
• Communicating effectively with parents and carers to support children’s learning and development.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – no ECTs for this post.
• Proven experience teaching Key Stage 2 , ideally Year 4.
• Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and assessment frameworks.
• Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
• A commitment to high standards of teaching, learning, and pupil progress.
