About the Role

As a Senior Manager in a Corporate Tax Advisory & Compliance team, you will play a crucial role in helping our client and their clients meet their tax obligations while managing the impact of tax on their business. You will advise regional clients on local and overseas tax affairs, acting as a strategic consultant and trusted advisor on a wide spectrum of tax issues. The large corporate tax team operates across multiple locations in the UK, including Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, East Midlands, Milton Keynes, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Aberdeen and work collaboratively as one team, alongside their overseas counterparts.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and build strong client relationships with our Partner and Director team, identifying opportunities to solve client problems and grow our business.
* Manage a portfolio of clients, serving as the primary contact for all day-to-day tax matters.
* Spot opportunities for related services and help clients manage their tax risk.
* Lead and mentor a team of junior staff, fostering their development and experience.
* Contribute to the development and sharing of technical knowledge within the team.
* Stay inquisitive about the changing business environment and its impact on clients.
* Develop internal relationships with subject matter and line of services specialists.
* Manage risk processes, client investments, and related financial metrics.
* Oversee client compliance obligations, including tax accounting, reporting, and corporation tax returns.

Essential Skills and Experience

* Practice-trained finance professional with relevant qualifications (e.g., ACA/ACCA/CTA, ICAEW) or equivalent knowledge and skills.
* Experience advising large corporate clients on UK and international tax matters.
* Proven client relationship skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
* Effective delegation and coaching skills for junior staff.
* Interest in and understanding of broader UK and global business issues.
* Strong analytical skills and a collaborative, creative problem-solving approach.
* Ability to build and manage new business through referrals, networking, and identifying client opportunities.
* Sound accounting knowledge and familiarity with accounting principles.
* Ability to write clear, articulate reports summarizing complex tax matters.
* Strong time management skills and ability to manage expectations of multiple stakeholders.
* Commitment to self-development with a proactive mindset.
