We are partnering with a leading international professional services organisation to appoint a Group Head of HR Shared Services on a contract to perm.

London based – hybrid 1–2 days in office a week

This is a high–profile leadership opportunity offering the chance to shape and modernise a global HR service delivery model while leading a significant transformation agenda.

Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, you will lead a global HR Shared Services function operating across multiple international service hubs. You will be responsible for both the day–to–day effectiveness of HR service delivery and the strategic transformation of HR operations, processes, technology and payroll services.

This role combines operational leadership, change management and strategic planning, making it ideal for a senior leader who can balance business transformation with service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a global HR Shared Services function, delivering efficient, accurate and customer–focused HR support across the employee lifecycle.
• Develop, mentor and inspire regional Shared Services leaders and teams across multiple international locations.
• Drive the transformation of HR service delivery through process standardisation, simplification and operational excellence initiatives.
• Establish and optimise global service standards, governance frameworks, KPIs and SLAs.
• Lead the implementation of best–practice service management, case management and self–service solutions.
• Partner with HR, Finance, Technology, Legal and Operations teams to enhance service delivery and employee experience.
• Support the evolution of global payroll operations, including operating model improvements, governance and supplier management.
• Drive continuous improvement, automation and technology–enabled efficiencies across the HR function.
• Build strong relationships with executive stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor on operational and transformation initiatives.

Experience

We are seeking a commercially minded and hands–on leader who can operate strategically whilst remaining close to operational delivery.

You will bring:

• Significant experience leading global HR Shared Services, HR Operations or HR Service Delivery functions.
• A proven track record operating at Head of, Director or equivalent senior leadership level.
• Experience delivering large–scale HR transformation programmes within complex, international organisations.
• Expertise in designing and implementing HR shared services operating models.
• Experience managing geographically dispersed teams across multiple countries and cultures.
• Strong understanding of HR operations, employee lifecycle processes and service delivery frameworks.
• Experience supporting payroll transformation, outsourcing initiatives or payroll operating model change programmes.
• Strong stakeholder management, influencing and change leadership skills.
• A data–driven approach with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
