Site Assistant Role in a Faith Primary School
A welcoming Faith Primary School in Merton is seeking to appoint a reliable and practical Site Assistant to join its premises team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a hands-on approach to become an important part of the school's daily operations, helping to maintain a safe, secure, clean, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

About the Role
The successful Site Assistant will support the day-to-day maintenance and operation of the school premises. You will assist with general maintenance, site security, health and safety checks, room setups, deliveries, and ensuring the school buildings and grounds are maintained to a high standard.
The role will involve a mixture of planned tasks and responding to day-to-day issues across the site. You will need to be practical, dependable, and comfortable working independently while also supporting colleagues when required.
This position would suit someone with previous caretaking, maintenance, facilities, or site experience who takes pride in maintaining a high-quality environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the daily operation and maintenance of the school site
Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance tasks
Help ensure buildings and grounds remain clean, safe, and secure
Complete routine site and health and safety checks
Assist with opening and securing the premises
Set up classrooms, halls, and other areas for school activities
Receive deliveries and support contractors when required
Report maintenance issues and assist with resolving site-related problems

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Previous experience in a site, caretaking, maintenance, or facilities role
Good practical and DIY skills
Strong awareness of health and safety
Reliable, organised, and proactive approach to work
Ability to communicate effectively with staff, contractors, and visitors
Desirable
Previous experience working within a school or educational setting
Knowledge of building maintenance and site security
Relevant health and safety qualifications
Experience carrying out routine inspections and maintenance checks
