Important: Please note that school experience is required for this role.
The Role
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the Site Manager and wider school team and will:
Assist with the day-to-day maintenance and operation of the school site.
Carry out routine site inspections and report maintenance, safety or security issues.
Complete minor repairs and general maintenance tasks where appropriate.
Support the opening, closing and security of the school premises.
Assist with planned and reactive maintenance across the buildings and grounds.
Support contractors and external service providers working on site.
Help ensure classrooms, communal areas, grounds and facilities are safe, clean and well presented.
Assist with setting up rooms, furniture and equipment for school activities and events.
Maintain basic records relating to maintenance, inspections and repairs.
Respond promptly to urgent site and maintenance requirements.
There may also be opportunities to support wider facilities, health and safety and school improvement projects.
The Ideal Candidate
The school is seeking a candidate who:
Has previous experience in caretaking, maintenance, facilities, premises or a practical role.
Has good practical and problem-solving skills.
Understands the importance of health and safety and maintaining a secure environment.
Is confident carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs.
Can work independently while also contributing effectively to a wider team.
Has strong organisational and communication skills.
Is reliable, flexible, proactive and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Previous experience working within a school or educational setting is desirable but not essential.
