We are recruiting a dedicated KS1 Teacher for a welcoming school in Brent. The KS1 Teacher role begins January 2026, with induction and handover arranged before January 2026 to ensure the KS1 Teacher can start the spring term fully prepared. The KS1 Teacher will teach across Year 1 and Year 2 as required, deliver systematic phonics, lead guided-reading and develop early writing and number fluency.

About the role
The KS1 Teacher will plan purposeful, play-aware lessons that promote language development and early academic skills. The KS1 Teacher will assess learning frequently, implement targeted interventions and work closely with teaching assistants to scaffold tasks. Working in Brent, the KS1 Teacher will be part of a collaborative team with access to strong CPD and supportive leadership.
Key responsibilities
Deliver daily phonics and guided-reading sessions and sequence KS1 lessons to secure learning.
Run targeted small-group interventions and track their impact across the KS1 cohort.
Use assessment to inform planning and set clear next steps for pupils in Brent.
Work with colleagues to maintain consistent routines and positive behaviour systems.
Engage with families to share progress and support home–school continuity.
Person specification
Qualified teacher with EYFS/KS1 experience and strong phonics practice.
Patient, creative and confident in early assessment and classroom management.
Ready to commence January 2026 with attendance at induction and handover before January 2026.
