Learning Support Worker

Southwark College, part of NCG Group (a leading national provider of education and training) is looking to recruit a Learning Support Worker. Based at our Southwark College site, close to Waterloo Station, the successful candidate will be part of a large team of Learning Support Worker. The post would be term time only working Monday to Friday from 9:00am - 5:00pm.

The main duties of the post holder would be:

In class support for learners with EHCPs, this would include note taking, prompting, assisting students with classroom tasks to access teaching, learning and assessment

Creating / adapting / using a range of resources and strategies to meet learners' needs including e-resources, assistive technology and adapted equipment

Supervising learners on arrival at college, during lunchtimes and breaks and ensuring they leave the premises with due care as required

Supporting learners off-site in learning and travelling contexts e.g. trips, travel training, work placements

Keeping records of learner needs, progress and the achievement of learning targets
