SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Southgate, Enfield
Salary: £90-£105 per day (Depending on Experience)
Hours: 8:15 am - 3:45 pm
Contract Type: Long-Term, Full-Time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Southgate, Enfield . This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in SEN who is committed to supporting young learners in achieving their full potential. About the Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) , you will work closely with students requiring additional support, helping them access the curriculum and develop their confidence and skills. You will play a key role in creating an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment. Responsibilities of an SEN TA: * Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
* Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons, adapting resources as needed to meet individual needs.
* Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes students' social, emotional, and academic development.
* Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies under the guidance of the SENCO.
* Support students with personal care needs, where required.
* Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/carers.
* Encourage and develop students' independence and self-esteem.
* Collaborate with the wider school team, including teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals, to provide the best support for students.
* Contribute to creating an environment where all students feel safe, valued, and empowered to succeed. SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements: * Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN, ideally in a school setting as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
* CACHE Level 3 or NVQ 2/3 for Teaching Assistant or childcare is essential.
* A degree in Psychology, Education or in a similar field.
* Knowledge about SEN-related issues, especially about Autism, SEMH, ADHD and other learning difficulties.
* A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
