Role Summary:


Our Client is seeking a skilled Programme Quality Engineer to join their team in New Malden. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for providing Mission Assurance support across assigned bids and projects/programmes. Your primary focus will be on monitoring the hardware and electrical aspects of complex system development for technical and process compliance. As a Programme Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring deliverables meet the required standards before release.

Responsibilities:

Conduct Mission Assurance and Quality Assurance activities throughout the business acquisition and programme execution phases.

Provide independent oversight to ensure compliance with external standards, internal requirements, and contractual obligations.

Participate in bid and programme Gate Reviews to support mission success.

Collaborate with project teams and Supply Chain staff to ensure Supplier Quality and manage supplier performance effectively.

Assist in cascading MA/QA requirements to suppliers.

Support risk and opportunity management activities on bids, projects, and Programmes.

Develop and document programme-specific processes.

Generate and deliver MA/QA reports as necessary, escalating significant issues or risks.

Ensure customer deliverables meet quality standards and contractual requirements.

Engage with customers, suppliers, and third parties on Mission and Quality Assurance aspects.

Collect, interpret, and present MA/QA metrics to the Programme Manager and Quality leadership.

Conduct follow-up audits to verify resolution of non-conformities.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Quality Assurance background, with experience in a systems engineering environment.

Familiarity with UK MOD assurance requirements and practices.

Proven track record of meeting Quality Assurance requirements.

Experience in quality improvement, including lessons learned and root cause analysis.

Ability to travel within the UK, requiring a valid UK driving license.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

Proficiency in APQP/PPAP Methodology, preferably AS9145.

IPC 610/620 Certification for electrical inspection.

Knowledge of creating and interpreting Quality Management Plans from AQAP Standards.

Understanding of Defence engineering standards and practices such as Def Stan 05-57, IEC 61508.

Familiarity with ISO standards including ISO 9001, AS9100, and ISO 27001.

Competency/Skill Requirements:

Self-motivated and capable of working autonomously and collaboratively.

Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders and customers effectively.

Proficiency in written and spoken English.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Proficient in IT tools such as MS Office, JIRA, Atlassian Tools, and ERP systems like SAP.

Flexible, dynamic, and responsive approach to work, adept at multitasking and meeting deadlines.

Security Clearance:


In adherence to programme requirements, candidates must be British Nationals eligible for and maintain UK Government security clearance at SC level.
