Part-Time Nanny/Housekeeper – Clapham, SW4

Salary: £22–£25 gross per hour, depending on experience

A family in Clapham is seeking an organised, dependable nanny/housekeeper to help with their home and care for two boys, aged three and seven.

The role combines light housekeeping before school collection with active, engaging childcare afterwards. The family is looking for someone who enjoys keeping a home organised and is equally happy joining in games, planning activities and matching the boys’ energy.

Hours

- Term time: Monday to Friday, 1.00 pm–6.00 pm, 25 hours per week + .
- Approximately 1.00 pm–3.00 pm: Housekeeping and a short dog walk.
- Approximately 3.00 pm–6.00 pm: School collection and childcare.
- School holidays: Full-time availability is essential throughout all school holidays, including every half term and the Christmas, Easter and summer breaks. Exact daily hours and the balance of duties will be agreed with the family.
- Occasional evening care, approximately once a fortnight, usually finishing by 9.00 - 10.00 pm.

Applicants must be able to commit to both the term-time schedule and full-time school-holiday care.

Duties

- Laundry and keeping clothes organised.
- General tidying and household organisation.
- Taking the family’s elderly dog for a gentle walk in the nearby park.
- Collecting the boys from school, a short walk from home.
- Organising games, activities and outings.
- Supporting the children’s afternoon routines and keeping their areas tidy.

The eldest boy has Type 1 diabetes. Previous experience is welcome but not essential, as the parents will provide training in his care routine. The successful candidate must be attentive, responsible and willing to learn.

Requirements

- Previous experience caring for children of similar ages.
- Confidence managing laundry, light housekeeping and household organisation.
- A warm, fun and energetic approach to childcare.
- Reliability and the ability to work independently.
- Full-time availability during all school holidays.
- Enhanced DBS, current paediatric first aid and checkable references.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Comfortable caring for an elderly dog.

A driver is not required.

The family would also consider a shorter term-time schedule, approximately 3.00 pm–6.00 pm, for a candidate seeking an after-school nanny role without housekeeping duties. Full-time availability during all school holidays remains essential.
