About The Role

The role is at the forefront of the prevention of homelessness in the borough. Officers will work with a full range of customers and scenarios but may specialise in teams providing an outreach service, or those that focus on single people or families. This is a busy role with competing demands, so you will need to be able to think and work efficiently in a busy environment. You will be a team player who is articulate, organized, and able to work well under pressure delivering first class homeless prevention and assessment services. You will be part of a large team of advisers working across the borough delivering first class homeless prevention and assessment services.

About You

We need a strong communicator who can work effectively and manage a varied caseload. You will be a self-starter who works well on own initiative and as part of a team. An aspiration to assist in homelessness prevention and ability to work collaboratively with other departments, as you will be joining an experienced team who are passionate about the service they deliver. The successful candidate will demonstrate:

Empathy: showing genuine compassionate for those in housing need

Problem-solving skills: finding positive and innovative outcomes , turning challenging scenarios into positive outcomes for our customers

Negotiation skills: building strong relationships with customers and internal and external stakeholders to explore all accommodation options.

Accountability: taking ownership of your decisions and actions, ensuring transparency and honesty and maintaining robust record-keeping.

Team working skills: using internal and external partners to provide excellent customer service

Resilience: being able to work under pressure and being calm and composed in stressful situations which is important when working with vulnerable customers.
