Engineering Planner Location: Heathrow Airport (Site-Based) Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract Sector: Civil Engineering / Aviation Infrastructure The Role Carmichael UK are seeking an experienced Engineering Planner to join the project team delivering a new baggage handling facility at Heathrow. This is a key planning role, focused on producing robust and buildable construction sequencing for a complex and high-profile aviation infrastructure scheme. Working closely with engineering, construction, and project controls teams, you will ensure delivery is fully aligned with programme requirements, milestones, and operational constraints within a live airport environment. This is a delivery-focused, hands-on role with no direct line management responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Develop detailed construction sequencing plans, programmes, and methodologies. Coordinate with design, engineering, and construction teams to align sequencing with design deliverables, procurement, and live airport operations. Support constructability reviews and integrate engineering solutions into the programme. Provide programme assurance and technical input for key project milestones. Manage interfaces with existing airport operations and other projects within Terminal 2. Participate in risk and opportunity reviews, incorporating mitigation strategies. Produce high-quality planning outputs in collaboration with project stakeholders. Requirements Proven experience as an Engineering Planner / Project Planner on Tier 1 infrastructure projects. Strong technical background, ideally with engineering experience (civil, structural, or construction) before moving into planning. Proficiency with industry-standard planning software (e.g., Primavera P6). Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing in complex, constrained environments. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary project team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset. Desirable Experience in aviation infrastructure (airports, terminals, baggage systems). Experience in rail or station projects with complex stakeholder and operational demands. Familiarity with Heathrow standards, processes, and operational requirements
