Occupational Therapist - Adult Social Care
Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist with expertise in major adaptations, complex equipment, and manual handling?
Redbridge Council is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join its integrated Adult Social Care and Community Health Service. Working within a locality-based multidisciplinary team, you will manage a varied caseload of complex and standard cases while helping residents maintain independence and improve their quality of life.

The Role:
Working across locality clusters within Redbridge, you will undertake complex Occupational Therapy assessments, develop person-centred support plans, and provide specialist recommendations for equipment and adaptations.
You will play a key role in supporting adults with a wide range of health conditions, ensuring interventions are practical, effective, and promote independence.
What will your responsibilities be?
- Complete complex Occupational Therapy assessments and reviews
- Assess for and recommend major adaptations and specialist equipment
- Produce detailed specifications, plans, and sketches for adaptation works
- Undertake manual handling assessments and provide risk management solutions
- Work collaboratively with service users, carers, housing teams, and MDT professionals
- Review equipment and adaptations to ensure safety and effectiveness
- Maintain accurate records, assessments, and reports
- Manage and prioritise a varied caseload effectively
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration
- Extensive experience assessing for major adaptations and complex equipment
- Strong knowledge of manual handling and risk assessment
- Experience preparing adaptation specifications, reading plans, and producing sketches for major works
- Knowledge of Adult Social Care legislation and housing legislation
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to manage, prioritise, and progress complex cases independently
- Strong communication, report-writing, and problem-solving skills
