ABOUT THE JOB


Are you passionate about improving outcomes for care-experienced young people? Do you have the drive to lead a dynamic, youth-led initiative that empowers young people to take control of their futures?

We are seeking a House Project Lead to lead and deliver a comprehensive programme of assessment, review and support for young people leaving care in the London Borough of Newham. You will supervise a House Facilitator and work directly with young people to co-develop and deliver a project that supports their transition into independent living.


The House Project equips young people with the skills, confidence and support they need to move into their first home, sustain their tenancy, and thrive in their communities. You will work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners, including housing providers, education and employment services, and health professionals, to ensure holistic support for each young person

ABOUT YOU


You'll bring:


- A recognised qualification in Social Work.


- Experience of working within a residential setting is desirable


- A strong working knowledge of national policy and legislation regarding children's social care.


- Substantial experience working with young people in social work, youth work or education settings.


- Proven leadership in project development and delivery.


- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work relationally with young people and collaboratively with professionals.

You'll be:
- Committed to co-production and youth empowerment.
- Skilled in assessing young people's needs holistically and safeguarding effectively.
- Able to work flexibly, creatively and tenaciously to achieve positive outcomes.
- Comfortable with a physically active role, including participation in group activities and residential trips.


Key Responsibilities:


- Lead the delivery of the House Project in Newham, management of facilitators.
- Work directly with young people to co-design and deliver the programme.
- Build and maintain partnerships with housing, education, employment and health services.
- Ensure ongoing support for young people post-move-in to sustain tenancies and promote wellbeing.
- Promote youth voice and participation at every stage of the project.


Essential Skills and Experience:


Ability to form positive, trusting relationships with young people.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience of multi-agency working and partnership development.
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice and child development.
- Ability to travel independently across the borough.
