£35,000 – £40,000 (pro rata)

Pareto FM is seeking a skilled and proactive Building Services Engineer to join our team, supporting a portfolio of client sites across London.

This is a varied, hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for delivering planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems , while ensuring high standards of safety, compliance and customer service.

We’re looking for someone who is customer-focused, solution-driven, and takes real ownership of their work — someone who enjoys problem-solving and thrives in a professional, fast-paced environment.

The Role

As a Building Services Engineer, you’ll act as a key point of contact on site, supporting both the client and internal teams while ensuring all building services are maintained to a high standard.

What you’ll be doing

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across building systems

  • Managing maintenance requests from start to completion , providing clear updates to clients and FM teams

  • Acting as the first point of response for M&E and fabric issues

  • Conducting statutory, mandatory and insurance inspections

  • Maintaining accurate records across CAFM systems, logbooks and technical documentation

  • Ensuring all works are completed safely, to standard and within budget

  • Supporting permit to work systems and H&S processes

  • Supervising and managing subcontractors, ensuring compliance with RAMS

  • Providing regular updates and reports to the Facilities Manager

  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation

  • Supporting a range of workplace tasks to ensure business continuity

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in a Building Services Engineer / Facilities Maintenance role

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems

  • Experience delivering both PPM and reactive maintenance

  • Confident managing and supervising contractors and suppliers

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • A proactive, flexible and “can-do” attitude

  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities

Desirable

  • IOSH Managing Safely

  • Knowledge of mechanical/plumbing systems and building construction

  • Experience working in a client-facing environment
