Schedule Compiler - Transport Planning & Scheduling (Hiring Immediately)

We’re looking for a Schedule Compiler to join our Commercial team and help plan the schedules that keep London’s bus network moving.

You don’t need to already be an experienced Schedule Compiler. We’re looking for someone with strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills who is keen to develop specialist expertise in transport planning and scheduling.

You may currently work in data, administration, logistics, operations, resource planning, scheduling or transport and be looking for your next career move. Equally, if you already have relevant experience, we’d love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

You’ll receive training and support while taking responsibility for:

• Compiling bus schedules, duty schedules, timetables and staff rotas
• Using scheduling systems and data to create efficient operational plans
• Analysing performance and resource data to improve schedule efficiency
• Estimating resource requirements in response to Arriva and Transport for London (TfL) initiatives
• Working with Commercial and Operations teams to maintain accurate planning information
• Occasionally investigating routes across London to understand operational requirements

What we're looking for

• Strong numerical and analytical skills, particularly when working with hours and minutes
• Good problem-solving and logical thinking skills
• Confidence using computers, spreadsheets and data
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• The ability to work through complex problems to find the best solution
• Good organisation and communication skills
• A willingness to learn and develop

Experience within transport planning, scheduling, timetabling, logistics, resource planning, data analysis or public transport would be beneficial, but is not essential.

Training will be provided in schedule compilation, scheduling systems, TfL requirements and London bus operations. Depending on your existing experience, the training period may take up to nine months.

Location

The role is based at our Finsbury Park head office, with occasional travel across London. Some flexibility to work outside normal office hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, will be required.
