Exams Officer - Girls' School in Hackney - ASAP Start
A highly organized and detail-oriented Exams Officer is required to join a premier girls' secondary school in Hackney to start as soon as possible. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for an individual with a background in education administration or data management who excels in maintaining meticulous routines and ensuring the integrity of the examination process.
The examination cycle is a critical pillar of the school’s academic success, requiring a professional who can manage complex logistics while providing a calm and supportive environment for students.
The Role
Managing the end-to-end administration of all internal and external examinations, including GCSEs, A-Levels, and vocational qualifications.
Utilizing school management systems (such as SIMS or Bromcom) to process entries, manage seating plans, and ensure accurate data submission to exam boards.
Coordinating the recruitment, training, and scheduling of a team of external invigilators to ensure full compliance with JCQ regulations.
Planning and delivering structured briefings for staff and students regarding exam conduct, access arrangements, and scheduling.
Overseeing the secure receipt, storage, and distribution of examination papers and the subsequent dispatch of scripts for marking.
Working closely with the SENCO to ensure that all necessary access arrangements are in place and executed correctly for eligible students.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Previous experience as an Exams Officer or in a senior administrative role within a secondary school setting.
Deep knowledge of JCQ regulations and a proven ability to maintain absolute compliance under pressure.
A resilient and professional approach, with the ability to manage high-stakes deadlines and complex logistical challenges.
High-level competency in digital platforms and school data management software to facilitate reporting and tracking.
Exceptional communication skills, with a methodical and highly organized approach to record-keeping.
A proactive attitude and the ability to work collaboratively within the wider administrative and leadership teams.
