Student Services Officer | Camden

We are seeking a proactive and empathetic Student Services Officer to join a vibrant support team in Camden . We are looking for an individual who can navigate the complexities of student life with compassion, resilience, and total professionalism.
Core Responsibilities
Student Welfare Hub: Acting as the primary point of contact for students throughout the school day, managing the Student Services desk and addressing a wide range of enquiries, from lost property to personal wellbeing.
Attendance & Punctuality: Monitoring student attendance in real-time using systems like Arbor or SIMS , making parental contact where necessary, and working closely with the Attendance Officer to improve school-wide participation.
First Aid & Medical Coordination: Providing basic first aid (training provided) and managing student medical records, ensuring that care plans for students with specific health needs are up-to-date and accessible.
Behavior Support Administration: Assisting the pastoral team with the administration of the school’s behavior policy, including the coordination of detentions, internal exclusions, and the tracking of positive merit points.
Communication Link: Serving as a vital bridge between the school, parents, and external agencies, ensuring that safeguarding information and general updates are shared accurately and sensitively.
Events & Logistics: Providing administrative support for school events, such as parents' evenings, vaccination clinics, and student photo days, ensuring a seamless experience for the whole community.

Candidate Profile
Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational or youth work setting, is highly desirable.
Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional ability to build rapport with teenagers, remaining calm, authoritative, and empathetic even in challenging situations.
Organizational Mastery: The ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy in record-keeping and data entry.
Discretion & Sensitivity: A deep understanding of the importance of confidentiality and data protection (GDPR), particularly when handling sensitive student information.
Character: A resilient, flexible, and team-oriented individual who is passionate about removing the barriers to learning for every student.
