About the role
UCU is seeking an Administrator - People and Development, to join the team at the head office in Carlow Street, London NW1 7LH, on a permanent, full time basis. In this exciting role, reporting to the Head of P&D, your main duties will be:
- supporting and assisting the People & Development Team and the Head of People & Development with a range of administrative duties.
- providing administrative support in relation to the recruitment and selection processes
- responsibility for maintaining the HR system
- managing the administration of new starters and the UCU Probationary Process
- managing UCU's Family Friendly leave
- supporting the work of the Health and Safety Committee
- managing the administration of leavers, staff benefits and any changes to terms and conditions.
You must be educated to GCSE level or equivalent experience (inc. maths & English) and the role would suit someone with experience of a similar working environment and/or understanding of working for a trade union or other not-for-profit organisation. You will need sound organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, along with basic knowledge of employment law.
