We are currently recruiting Graduate English Academic Mentors to work across several secondary schools in the Wembley area . This is an outstanding opportunity for graduates who want to gain meaningful, hands-on experience in education while building a clear pathway into teacher training programmes such as PGCE, Schools Direct, or Teach First .
This role is ideal for aspiring teachers who want to develop their classroom confidence, subject knowledge, and understanding of secondary education before formally training.
The Role
As a Graduate English Academic Mentor, you will:
- Support students across KS3 and KS4 English lessons.
- Deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions to improve literacy, reading, and writing skills.
- Work closely with English teachers to support lesson delivery and classroom learning.
- Help students build confidence in English, particularly those who need additional support.
- Assist with lesson resources, marking, and progress tracking where appropriate.
- Gain invaluable insight into teaching and school life.
Who We’re Looking For
- A 2:1 degree or above in English or a related subject .
- A genuine interest in education and a clear ambition to become a teacher.
- Strong communication skills and a confident, professional attitude.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting young people.
- No previous school-based experience is required — full training and support will be provided.
