We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant school community in Tower Hamlets, where you'll play a vital role in helping children with diverse learning needs thrive. Your contribution will be essential in ensuring that every child receives the individualized support they need to succeed. Key Responsibilities of a SEN TA:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: * Provide focused support for students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, including those with ADHD and potential self-harming behaviors, particularly in the mornings.
* Offer flexible afternoon support across Key Stages 1 and 2, ensuring all students receive the care and assistance they require.
* Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, helping children build confidence and achieve their potential.
* Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement personalized learning plans and interventions.
* Build strong, positive relationships with students to support their social, emotional, and academic development. * A solid understanding of SEN, safeguarding, and child protection practices.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
* Willingness to assist with nappy changing when necessary.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for helping children succeed.
* Relevant qualifications or training in education, SEN, or child development are a plus. Please Note: A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection is essential for this role.
