Account Handler – Contingency Insurance
Location: London (Hybrid or Office-based)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Account Handler to join a well-established and specialist Contingency Insurance team in the heart of the London insurance market. This role offers the chance to work across a diverse range of contingency risks including event cancellation, non-appearance, terrorism/political violence, film & media, public liability, and prize indemnity , among others.
The company is a respected Lloyd’s Broker and Coverholder with an international presence, providing both retail and wholesale solutions across the UK and Europe. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that works closely with underwriters, producers, and internal stakeholders to deliver exceptional service and underwriting support throughout the full policy lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle incoming insurance enquiries and conduct initial risk research and analysis
Prepare quote slips detailing risk and coverage requirements
Work closely with placing brokers to coordinate quote distribution
Produce post-bind MRC slips and manage PPL uploads
Liaise with underwriters to obtain stamping and approvals
Coordinate with processing teams to ensure accurate data entry and compliance
Process policy endorsements and provide ongoing client/broker support
Assist with internal operations and support continuous process improvements
Requirements:
Essential:
Experience within the London insurance market
Strong understanding of MRC slip production and insurance placement
High attention to detail and excellent communication skills
Ability to manage a busy workflow and competing priorities
Confident using Microsoft Office and market-specific systems
Desirable:
Experience with contingency or event insurance
Familiarity with PPL (Placing Platform Limited)
Progress toward CII or other professional insurance qualifications
Understanding of Lloyd’s market standards and procedures
