Product Development Manager
Are you experienced in personal lines Home insurance and have a solid understanding of risk selection and interpretation of policy terms? AXA UK is looking for a Product Development Manager to join our Retail Customer, Product and Propositions team. You'll support the management of AXA's branded Home products across both Direct and Intermediary channels. You'll be responsible for best practice, supporting new product launches and implementing changes to existing Home policies, with a focus on simplifying and enhancing offerings to deliver excellent customer experiences and strong commercial results. At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. We're also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition. What you'll be doing:
- Identify opportunities to enhance Home Insurance products and propositions to meet customer needs and drive business results.
- Lead and develop a team of product managers and executives, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
- Support product simplification across channels, ensuring clear customer outcomes and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee the development of benchmark wording, simplification of terms, and maintenance of "best of breed" practices.
- Contribute to Fair Value Assessments and ensure customer documentation reflects fair, transparent product information.
- Management of third-party relationships, including ancillary product providers and industry bodies including the ABI.
- Lead operational and claims best practices, technical underwriting, and efficiency improvements to support claims handling and underwriting decisions.
- Capture customer feedback, manage emerging risks, and represent AXA at industry forums to incorporate best practices. ACII or relevant professional qualification, or progress towards it.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to give constructive feedback at all levels.
- In-depth knowledge of personal lines Home insurance, including policy interpretation and risk selection.
- Proven experience in product development, technical underwriting, and delivering innovative solutions.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, agile environment and meet deadlines.
- Strong relationship management skills, with experience in senior stakeholder reporting.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on simplifying processes, creating efficiencies, and pushing product boundaries. At AXA UK, we're appreciative of the people who work for us and our rewards package is reviewed regularly to reflect that. You can expect to receive:
- Competitive annual salary dependent on experience
- Annual company & performance-based bonus
- Contributory pension scheme (up to 12% employer contributions)
- Life Assurance (up to 10 x annual salary)
- Private medical cover
- 28 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
- Opportunity to buy up to 5 extra days leave or sell up to 5 days leave
- Wellbeing services & resources
- AXA employee discounts
