I’m currently working with a small but rapidly growing business who are looking to appoint a reliable and hands-on part-time bookkeeper to support their finance function.This is a really nice opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a close-knit SME environment, taking ownership of day-to-day transactional finance while also supporting the production of management information.
Your new role
Purchase & Sales Ledger Management
- Processing supplier invoices and raising sales invoices
- Managing supplier payments and credit control
- Bank & Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Daily/weekly bank reconciliation
- Reconciling key balance sheet accounts
- Transactional Finance
- Posting journals and maintaining accurate records
- Managing expenses and petty cash
- Month-End Support
- Assisting with accruals, prepayments and journals
- Supporting preparation of month-end accounts
- Accounts Preparation
- Assisting in producing draft management accounts
- Preparing information for year-end / external accountants
- Systems & Process Improvements
- Supporting improvements to finance processes as the business grows
- Previous experience in a Bookkeeping / Accounts Assistant role within an SME
- Strong understanding of transactional finance processes
- Confident with bank reconciliations and month-end support
- Experience working towards management accounts preparation
- Comfortable using accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)
- Part-qualified (AAT / ACCA / CIMA) or qualified by experience
