Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) is recruiting a Corporate Governance Analyst based in our London office. You will be a core member of the Responsible Investment team, aiding primarily with proxy voting, company engagement, corporate governance analysis and ESG integration.
You will assist the team in governance research, proxy voting analysis and company engagement across RLAM’s investments. This includes executing proxy votes according to our voting guidelines, keeping abreast of governance news and research, participating in engagement meetings, updating our policies and documents, and helping write governance commentary for internal and external publication.
You will have the opportunity to meet and engage with company directors to discuss topics like executive pay, succession planning, director independence and corporate strategy.
This role has a high degree of contact with our investment teams and is a great opportunity for someone with some previous corporate governance experience to join a fast moving, dynamic team.
About the role
- Conduct proxy analysis and execute votes according to our Proxy Voting Guidelines
- Analyse the corporate governance practices of companies in our investment funds
- Engage with investee companies on corporate governance issues
- Develop specialist knowledge and expertise in corporate governance across global markets
- Help conduct ESG analysis for our fixed income and equity funds
- Assist in the production of marketing material, quarterly client reports, meeting notes, and other documents as needed
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with our investment teams
About you
- Undergraduate level degree in Law or Economics, or equivalent experience
- Previous experience of corporate governance research and/or proxy voting
- Aspiration of working in corporate governance, proxy voting and responsible investment
- Strong relationship management skills, with both internal stakeholders and relevant external parties
- Proven research and analysis skills
- Highly organised with the ability to handle and prioritise multiple tasks with tight deadlines
- Ability to self-motivate, adapt to change and know when to ask questions
