Managing Director, Engineering Services, Leicestershire, GBP150k–200k+ excellent package

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are now recruiting for an experienced and ambitious Managing Director to join our GBP40m turnover recently Private Equity–acquired client to manage and grow the UK business, specialising in engineering services for a number of markets, including industrial, automotive, aerospace and pharmaceuticals.

As Managing Director your focus will be on continuously improving and developing the UK business. The Managing Director will need to lead operations, facilities and create a safe environment to develop and drive operational excellence whilst ensuring top quality products and services are delivered to customers on schedule, on time and in budget.

The incoming Managing Director will have complete oversight of the UK Operations, Sales, QA, Engineering, Customer Service, HR & Finance, and will be completely instrumental in driving individual site standards and in some cases uniformity, whilst adapting to each unique requirement.

In addition, the Managing Director will lead initiatives including:

Ensuring inclusive / empowering leadership of 3 UK sites (2 engineering / manufacturing & 1 Head Office) 40–150 people per site.
Be commercially driven (whilst staying within the business values), and tasked with operating at optimum employee levels, costs, and productivity objectives.
Work closely with Site Leads / General Managers to develop and implement long and short–term objectives.
Champion the company s culture, safety, sustainability, and employee engagement programmes.
Drive major projects as part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

It is most likely you will have:

The ability to show humility, to listen and learn about the business first. The strength to call out the pros and cons and where changes need to occur
Worked across multi–site manufacturing environments and technically competent
Strong commercial awareness
A track record of building successful teams
Broad experience as a Managing Director with full P&L and Balance Sheet responsibilities
A relevant technical qualification (HNC / Degree / MBA / Lean Six Sigma)
