A thriving secondary school in the London Borough of Enfield is seeking an organised and proactive Cover Manager to coordinate the daily cover arrangements for teaching staff. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has the ability to remain calm while managing changing priorities throughout the school day.
Working closely with senior leaders, department heads and teaching staff, you will ensure that high-quality classroom cover is arranged efficiently each day, allowing the school to continue delivering an excellent education with minimal disruption.
The successful candidate will possess outstanding organisational skills, excellent communication abilities and a positive approach to problem solving.

Cover Team
The Cover Team plays a vital role in ensuring learning continues smoothly when teaching staff are absent. As Cover Manager, you will oversee all daily cover arrangements while maintaining effective communication with staff across the school.
Your responsibilities will include:
Coordinating daily staff cover arrangements.
Allocating cover supervisors and supply staff where required.
Maintaining accurate staff absence records.
Liaising with external supply agencies.
Producing daily cover timetables.
Communicating cover arrangements to teaching staff.
Supporting emergency cover requirements.
Monitoring staffing levels and identifying trends.
Maintaining cover budgets where appropriate.
Supporting the wider administration team during quieter periods.
Assisting with workforce planning and reporting.
Ensuring all records remain accurate and confidential.
The successful candidate will become an integral member of the school's operations team, helping to ensure lessons continue without disruption while maintaining excellent communication across all departments.
Requirements
Previous administrative experience within a school is desirable.
Excellent organisational and planning skills.
Ability to work calmly under pressure.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to manage competing priorities.
Professional and confidential approach.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Commitment to safeguarding and supporting the school's wider community.
