Finance Director – Regulated Fintech

London / Hybrid 3–4 days per week GBP130,000–GBP150,000 FTE + bonus + benefits + share options

We are working with an exciting, early–stage FCA–regulated fintech to recruit a Finance Director who will play a pivotal role in the next stage of the company's growth.

The business is a VC–backed, FCA Authorised Electronic Money Institution developing a modern working capital platform for SMEs. This is a highly visible role reporting directly to the CEO, combining financial leadership, hands–on financial control, FP&A, regulatory finance and strategic support .

The role is particularly well suited to someone looking for a senior 3–4 day per week position within a growing fintech environment.

The Role

The Finance Director will take ownership of the finance function and work closely with the CEO, leadership team, Board, investors and external advisers.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and scenario planning
• Cash management, liquidity forecasting and capital planning
• Board and investor reporting
• Maintaining a robust financial control environment appropriate for an FCA–regulated business
• Supporting regulatory reporting and working closely with compliance and operational teams
• Oversight of safeguarding, reconciliations and finance–related operational controls
• Statutory reporting, year–end, audit and corporation tax
• Supporting future equity and debt fundraising, including modelling and due diligence
• Improving finance systems, processes, controls and reporting
• Oversight of outsourced bookkeeping, payroll, AP and month–end
• Helping shape the future structure and development of the finance function

This is a hands–on Finance Director role . You will need to be equally comfortable supporting the CEO on strategy, funding and Board matters as you are getting into the detail of cashflow, reporting, controls and month–end.

The Candidate

Previous experience within an FCA–regulated financial services environment is essential.

We are looking for someone with:

• Senior finance experience within fintech, payments, lending, banking or another FCA–regulated financial services business
• Strong financial control, reporting and FP&A experience
• Experience operating within a regulated environment
• Cash, liquidity and capital management experience
• The ability to combine strategic thinking with hands–on delivery
• Experience working with CEOs, Boards, investors, auditors and compliance/regulatory stakeholders
• Strong commercial judgement and communication skills
• Experience improving finance processes, systems and controls

Experience within a VC–backed fintech, EMI or payments environment , and exposure to equity or debt fundraising, would be particularly advantageous.

A professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA is strongly preferred.
