Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Enterprise Data Architect to lead the architecture, design and implementation of a modern, scalable, and secure data ecosystem for one of the largest public healthcare systems in the UK. This is a multi-year transformation initiative focused on delivering data-driven insights, and enabling advanced analytics capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end architecture, design, and delivery of a strategic data platform program.
  • Engage with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, technology partners, and delivery teams to define and drive the data strategy.
  • Architect and implement solutions using the Microsoft Azure Data Stack, including:
    • Microsoft Fabric
    • Azure Data Factory (ADF)
    • Azure Databricks
    • Microsoft Purview
    • Power BI, OneLake, and Dataverse
  • Define reference architectures, data models, and integration patterns for clinical, operational, and workforce data.
  • Support HRMS modernization, integrating legacy systems with cloud-native platforms.
  • Implement data governance frameworks aligned with GDPR, HIPAA, and UK public sector compliance mandates.
  • Enable AI/ML capabilities for predictive analytics and operational insights.
  • Legacy modernisation and implementation of lakehouse architecture.
  • Work n a global delivery model, ensuring alignment across geographies, multi cultural teams and time zones
Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in data & analytics platform architecture and design.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Data Technologies.
  • Proven track record of delivering at least one large-scale program within the UK public sector, preferably in UK healthcare.
  • Strong understanding of data mesh, lakehouse, and modern data architecture principles.
  • Experience working with Oracle HCM is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence at all levels.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in HRMS transformation in public sector or healthcare domains.
  • Familiarity with UK healthcare data standards
