NHSGGC Pharmacy Services Royal Hospital for Children/QEUH Specialist Pharmacist

Paediatrics Band 7 37 hours

The Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow is the largest tertiary Paediatric centre in Scotland, providing a range of local, regional and national services to children and families across the country.

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Pharmacy team based at the Royal Hospital for Children, working as a Specialist Pharmacist delivering targeted, safe and effective patient and family-centred care.

The Women and Children's Pharmacy team in NHS GGC is committed to moving our profession forward, with Advancing practice and digital solutions at the forefront of our agenda. The successful candidate will work as an integral part of the Women and Children's team - both Pharmacy and Multidisciplinary - promoting delivery of the highest quality care.

The post holder will contribute to the delivery of expert clinical pharmacy services to paediatric and neonatal intensive care, paediatric haematology and oncology, general paediatrics, surgical and medical specialties - including cardiac, renal, neurosciences and GI. Ongoing involvement in research, QI and development is essential to the role. In addition, this role will work as a key team member in delivering training and mentorship to experiential learning and foundation year pharmacists as part of our training and education programme.

You will need confidence and enthusiasm, be dynamic with a keenness to try new ways of working, along with positivity and excellent communication skills. You must have a Master's Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.

Working towards a postgraduate qualification and an Independent Prescribing qualification is essential. Commitment to CPD in line with GPhC requirements and completion or almost completed Post registration Framework or equivalent experience is essential. Paediatric experience is desirable but not essential.

Working pattern is Monday to Friday with participation in weekend working, public holidays and on call.
