Distribution Product Owner

IAG Cargo
Hounslow, Greater London

Looking for a challenge in one of the world’s largest airfreight logistics organisations?

At IAG Cargo we are in the business of moving things. From antibiotics to rhinoceros, gold bullion to avocados and everything in between. Whatever people need, wherever they are. In an era of digital screens and closed borders, we open the skies and fly the world to bring people the things they really need.

We are the logistics and cargo brand of International Airlines Group (Aer Lingus, British Airways, Iberia, Level and Vueling). At IAG Cargo, we believe in keeping the world’s economies turning, and do everything with determined attitudes, curious minds, collaborative actions and heartfelt pride. Join us at our globally recognised logistics business, where we are building a great place to work for customers and colleagues alike.

About the role

At IAG Cargo, digital distribution is a critical pillar of our commercial strategy. As we transition to a fully integrated digital ecosystem, the Distribution Product Owner plays a vital role in turning commercial goals into platform functionality that drives results. You will lead the commercial input into platform development, resolving current limitations while enabling new revenue-generating capabilities.

The Distribution Product Owner role combines product ownership with a commercial lens — you’ll translate strategic direction into sprint-level delivery while ensuring that backlog items contribute to revenue growth, digital adoption, and cost efficiency. Acting as the commercial interface to IT delivery teams, you’ll shape features that improve customer experience, unlock automation, and enable our growing portfolio of digital-only markets.

This is a high-impact, commercially accountable role responsible for translating strategic goals into executable product plans that deliver measurable business value. You will be at the heart of digital transformation, coordinating across IT, Digital Sales, Marketing, and external platforms to ensure we meet our digital adoption, capability, and revenue targets.

To succeed in this role, you must blend commercial acumen with digital fluency — balancing strategic thinking with tactical execution. You’ll work cross-functionally to define, prioritise, and deliver enhancements that elevate the performance of our distribution ecosystem and accelerate the shift to digital self-service.

Your work will directly enable the shift to scalable, automated distribution channels — unlocking new revenue, reducing cost of sale, and elevating customer experience.

What you’ll do

Backlog & Delivery Ownership

  • Own and manage the backlog for iagcargo.com and third-party platforms, ensuring that each story has a clear commercial purpose.
  • Partner with Digital Sales and the Distribution Product Manager to shape a backlog that supports self-service growth and digital-only market enablement.
  • Prioritise features and fixes based on business impact — revenue generation, cost reduction, customer value or strategic alignment.
  • Collaborate with our IT development teams to ensure delivery timelines align with commercial milestones.
  • Lead sprint planning and backlog grooming sessions, keeping delivery focused and outcomes measurable.

Commercial Strategy Alignment

  • Translate strategic goals into prioritised product features and backlog decisions. Ensure product decisions are informed by customer insights, market research, and internal feedback loops.
  • Shape capability improvement plans, contributing to digital performance reviews.
  • Support the definition of business cases, customer use cases, and benefit tracking for key features.

Customer Experience & Issue Resolution

  • Monitor adoption metrics, issue resolution progress, and platform performance to guide prioritization.
  • Champion the usability and reliability of digital sales platforms from a customer point of view. Triage commercial platform issues and help drive resolution in partnership with IT and platform analyst teams.
  • Provide support for UAT, business sign-off, and post-release performance monitoring.

It's all about you

What you’ll bring to IAG Cargo:

  • Commercial mindset – Translates commercial goals into digital capabilities that impact revenue, cost and customer experience.
  • Business fluency – Speaks the language of both sales and technology. Builds strong relationships across commercial, technical, and customer-facing teams.
  • Structured delivery – Brings rigour to backlog ownership, prioritisation and progress tracking.
  • Customer-centricity – Keeps user needs and experience at the heart of product decisions. Keeping friction, usability, and adoption top of mind.

  • Proven track record of delivering measurable business outcomes working with agile delivery teams.
  • Familiarity with commercial KPIs, customer success and adoption metrics.
  • Experience working with digital commerce, booking platforms, or B2B customer tools (preferably in logistics, travel, or e-commerce).
