Assistant Estimator
Our client is a well-established main contractor based in Hampton with a turnover of £12M, delivering high-quality refurbishment, new build, and fit-out projects across London, including Kensington, Chelsea, and Mayfair. Specialising in heritage, conservation, residential, commercial, education, and healthcare sectors, they are seeking an Assistant Estimator to join their team. Assistant Estimator Job Overview
- Assisting in preparing accurate cost estimates for refurbishment, fit-out, and new build projects.
- Supporting tender submissions and pricing for a range of heritage, commercial, and residential schemes.
- Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to gather cost information.
- Attending site visits and meetings to assess project requirements.
- Maintaining up-to-date records of pricing, specifications, and supplier databases.
- Supporting the handover of successful tenders to project delivery teams.
- Gaining exposure to project surveying duties as part of career development.
Assistant Estimator Job Requirements
- Relevant degree, HNC, or HND in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management, or 2+ years' experience as an Estimator or Quantity Surveyor. Ideally both.
- Good understanding of construction processes and materials.
- Strong IT skills (Excel, email) and excellent communication abilities.
- Able to build strong relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and clients.
- Must be based within an easy commute of Hampton.
- Motivated to progress and take on greater responsibility over time.
