Principal Product Manager - Payments

MoonPay
London
About MoonPay
Hi, we’re MoonPay. We’re here to onboard the world to the decentralized economy by making digital money move as universally and effortlessly as the internet.

Why?

Because crypto, stablecoins and blockchain aren’t just technologies. They’re tools for global financial empowerment. They give people and businesses more control over their money, their digital assets, and their future, opening access to legacy financial systems that have been out of reach for many.

What we do

MoonPay is a unified payments platform for digital currency. We make it easy for anyone, anywhere, to buy, sell, swap and pay in digital currencies as easy as sending an email. That simplicity is intentional, our focus is reducing complexity so people can participate confidently, without needing to be crypto experts. We power the entire flow between fiat and crypto end to end, with compliance, identity checks, fraud prevention, and settlement all built in. This end-to-end approach reflects how we work internally: with accountability, rigor, and trust built into everything we ship.

Proven at scale

Trusted by over 30 million customers and over 500 ecosystem partners, our secure, enterprise-grade platform is driving mainstream crypto adoption worldwide. Behind those numbers are millions of real people and organizations relying on MoonPay every day.

We collaborate with innovative brands and projects to build secure, scalable solutions for a blockchain-powered future. This is an opportunity to help shape systems, not just scale them. And we’re committed to doing it right. Fully licensed in the U.S. and regulated across the UK, EU, Canada, and Australia, because trust and compliance are non-negotiable.

But we’re just getting started. We’ve launched a consumer app that makes crypto accessible, intuitive, and usable for everyone, and it’s growing fast. We’re iterating every day to make it the best it can be.

If you believe financial freedom should be for everyone. If you believe in building a fairer, more open financial system - we want you with us. To build systems that benefit all, we need contributions from all, regardless of background.

Come build the future of payments and the decentralized economy with MoonPay. Let’s make financial freedom and autonomy the new normal.

About The Opportunity ✍️
You’ll own fiat money movement across MoonPay’s on-ramp and off-ramp experiences: the systems and journeys that bridge CeFi to DeFi on fiat rails.

This is broader than “payments integrations”: it includes the end-to-end customer experience, the operational tooling and workflows that keep money moving, and the core payment capabilities that underpin great UX, scale, reliability, and economics.

This is a principal-level role with portfolio ownership, heavy cross-functional leadership, and strong commercial accountability.

This leadership role is critical in shaping our payments infrastructure, bridging Web2 financial ecosystems with Web3 innovations, and unlocking mainstream adoption of digital assets through intuitive payment experiences. Your vision will directly impact user growth, partner adoption, and the geographic expansion of MoonPay’s payment capabilities.

What You Will Do

  • Define and execute a cohesive global product strategy to drive alignment with company-wide growth objectives and ambitious revenue targets
  • Create and deliver the roadmap for Payments teams that encompasses Card payments, Banking rails, and APMs across the US, EU, and APAC
  • Foster a commercially-minded, data-driven product culture using analysis, market research, and ROI analysis to justify investment and define success
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Marketing, Compliance, and Customer Experience teams to deliver best-in-class payment solutions
  • Drive product launches, market research, user discovery initiatives, and continuous optimization post-launch, ensuring measurable business impact
  • Manage strategic partnerships, vendor relationships, and regulatory engagements critical to expanding MoonPay’s payment services globally

About You

  • 6+ years in product management, with at least 3 years leading global cross-functional teams
  • Proven track record delivering large-scale payment products with measurable impacts on user growth, revenue generation, and geographic expansion
  • Proven experience in launching payment capabilities for global consumers or mass-market users
  • Deep expertise in traditional and emerging payment systems, including card networks, issuing platforms, crypto banking, and consumer fintech applications
  • Strong technical understanding of payment optimisation, ML-driven fraud prevention, regulatory frameworks, and PCI DSS compliance
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of navigating complex regulatory environments and building effective partnerships across financial institutions, tech providers, and regulatory bodies
  • Data-driven approach with proven experience leveraging analytics, experimentation frameworks, and user research to inform strategic decisions
  • A great attitude and team player

This position requires exceptional strategic vision, deep expertise in payment infrastructure, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams. You will balance regulatory complexity with innovative product execution, always prioritising user experience and measurable business outcomes.

What You Will Be Working With/on…

  • You will lead MoonPay’s payment strategy and product execution, focusing on:
  • Strategic alignment and roadmap management across Payments products
  • Innovative payment infrastructures bridging Web2 and Web3 ecosystems to drive global adoption and growth
  • Regulatory engagement and compliance frameworks to ensure seamless global expansion
  • Analytics and optimisation tools that enhance product performance, user engagement, and financial outcomes
  • Cross-functional collaboration to foster a high-performing, innovative payments product team
