HR Manager - Islington Secondary Academy
We are working with a high-performing, "Outstanding" secondary academy in Central London recruiting for a Strategic HR Manager. This school is a flagship for educational innovation, providing a sophisticated environment where HR is seen as a vital component of the Senior Leadership Team’s success.

The Role & Responsibilities Supporting the Principal and the Board of Governors, you will handle the vital strategic and operational HR work that allows the school to remain a top-tier employer.
Strategic Workforce Planning: Leading on recruitment and retention strategies to ensure the academy attracts elite teaching and support talent in a competitive London market.
Complex Employee Relations: Acting as the senior advisor on all ER matters, including capability, disciplinary, and formal grievance procedures.
Policy Innovation: Developing and implementing 2026-compliant HR policies, with a focus on flexible working and enhanced staff wellbeing.
Safeguarding Leadership: Taking ultimate accountability for the Single Central Record (SCR) and ensuring the school is always "Ofsted-ready" regarding safer recruitment.
Requirements
Degree: A Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field.
Certification: CIPD Level 7 is highly desirable (Level 5 mandatory).
Right to Work: Must possess the valid right to work in the UK.
Salary & Contract Details
Salary Range: £48,000 – £58,000 (Inner London Scale)
Hours: Full-time | Permanent | ASAP Start
