An independent secondary school in Kingston upon Thames is looking for a confident and knowledgeable Physics Teacher to join its Science Department. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for a teacher who can combine strong subject knowledge with an engaging approach to practical Science.

You will teach Science across Key Stage 3 before specialising in Physics at Key Stage 4. The role will involve topics including forces, energy, electricity, waves, space and radioactivity, alongside the practical skills required for GCSE Science.

The successful Physics Teacher will be expected to make challenging concepts accessible through clear explanations, demonstrations, practical investigations and problem-solving activities.

You will monitor student progress through regular assessment and provide targeted support where necessary. Working closely with other members of the Science Department will also be important to ensure students receive a consistent and well-sequenced curriculum.

• Physics Degree

• QTS or recognised teaching qualification

• GCSE Physics experience

• Confidence delivering practical investigations

• Strong classroom management

• Good planning and assessment skills

• Ability to explain complex concepts clearly

The salary for this Physics Teacher position will be paid to scale on MPS/UPS, depending on experience and qualifications.
