SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Merton, South West London Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only Start Date: ASAP Are you a caring, patient, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs? Uniform Education is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a specialist school in Merton. The school supports pupils with a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. About the Role: As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with additional learning and communication needs
• Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons
• Use tools such as PECS, Makaton, and sensory strategies to enhance learning and communication
• Promote independence, emotional regulation, and social skills development
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to meet EHCP outcomes
• Support with personal care or mobility when required (training provided)
• Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment for all pupils

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (essential)
• Knowledge of Autism, SLD, or SEMH (desirable)
• Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting pupils’ development
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to assist with personal care and/or manual handling (training can be provided)
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply via Uniform Education)
