Senior Veterinary Nurse for an Independent Practice in West London

The Role
As Senior Veterinary Nurse, you will play a key role in the daily clinical operations, supporting both patients and colleagues while helping to maintain high standards across the nursing team. You’ll work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure smooth workflows, excellent patient care, and ongoing team development.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day clinical operations alongside the senior leadership team
- Provide exceptional inpatient care and patient monitoring
- Assist vets during consultations, procedures, and surgeries
- Lead by example and help maintain high clinical standards
- Mentor and support student nurses and junior team members
- Assist with onboarding and training new staff
- Ensure lab work, diagnostics, and patient care protocols are followed correctly
- Contribute to maintaining and improving clinical protocols and procedures
Clinical Duties
- Anaesthesia monitoring
- Inpatient care and hospital nursing
- Nurse consultations and patient admissions
- Dentistry and radiography
- Laboratory diagnostics and equipment use
- Advanced nursing support including complex case management
Requirements
Essential
- RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
- 5+ years post-qualification experience
- Strong clinical skills across all areas of nursing
- Excellent communication and leadership ability
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
Desirable (training supported)
- Clinical coaching experience
- Orthopaedic or advanced surgical nursing
- Endoscopy, chemotherapy, or advanced inpatient care experience
