IT Retail Engineer
The Opportunity
At Sephora UK, we’re on an exciting growth journey and our retail technology is at the heart of delivering the exceptional in-store experience we’re known for. As our IT Retail Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our retail systems run seamlessly across the UK.
Based in London, you’ll support our rapid store expansion, lead hyper care for new openings, and collaborate closely with local and EME teams to keep our systems performing at their best. This is a hands-on, customer-centric role where technical expertise, communication, and partnership come together to create real impact.
You Will Also Be Responsible For:
Working closely with local and EME teams to ensure smooth and reliable operation of retail software and systems.
Owning complex troubleshooting with a logical, solutions-focused approach.
Deploying and supporting retail solutions as part of store openings and system upgrades across the UK.
Providing mentorship to our IT Service Desk team on retail systems, policies, and procedures.
Acting as a key point of escalation for store and Head Office system issues.
Creating and maintaining knowledge base articles to support effective issue resolution.
Delivering training to Business Analysts to deepen their understanding of store system functionality.
Coordinating with manufacturers and vendors to procure equipment and resolve hardware or software issues.
Communicating clearly and professionally with customers, partners, and internal teams.
Leading hyper care support following store openings to ensure smooth day one operations.
Supporting Head Office systems as needed, while keeping retail systems as the primary focus.
Travelling to store locations across the UK for deployments, installations, and upgrades.
Testing new functionality and features in our store lab to ensure the highest standards of quality.
Ensuring store systems are up to date, well maintained, and fully operational.
Applying technical expertise across network patching, PXE image deployment, and POS installations. (Experience with SAP and Vynamic POS is beneficial but not essential.)
What You’ll Bring
You’re a technically confident, solutions-focused retail IT professional with experience supporting store systems in a fast-paced environment. You communicate clearly, stay organised under pressure, and bring a collaborative mindset to every challenge, whether you’re working independently or alongside cross functional teams.
Our Ideal Candidate Will Also Possess:
Experience working with retail systems for at least two years.
Flexibility to travel within the UK for store deployments and upgrades.
Excellent organisation skills and strong attention to detail.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Technical certifications or training related to retail systems.
A passion for problem solving and continuous improvement.
Experience in a retail environment or customer-focused setting.
