Join our dynamic and expanding multidisciplinary team as an Independent Prescribing Nurse, specialising in ADHD and mental health care.

About the role

You'll conduct remote consultations (video and phone) with patients undergoing ADHD medication titration and post-stabilisation, prescribing in line with NICE guidelines using systems like SystmOne and EPS. You'll also offer non-pharmacological strategies to support individual treatment goals and have the opportunity to support our Depression and Anxiety Service.

There may be occasional travel to our London (Islington) office for team meetings or training. Depending on your location, you may also support in-person ADHD prescribing clinics in central London.

Key responsibilities

  • Participating in weekly MDT meetings, clinical audits, supervision sessions, and ongoing training.

  • Contributing to continuous service development and innovation.

  • Being part of the duty prescriber rota – triaging referrals, handling urgent patient/GP queries, and managing prescription requests.

  • Attending a short daily clinical team “huddle” for service updates.

What you'll need to have

  • Current NMC registration.

  • Independent Prescribing Qualification (V300).

  • At least 1 year of prescribing experience within ADHD care.

  • Previous experience working in adult mental health services.

  • Familiarity with national clinical guidelines and understanding of professional limitations.

  • Proven ability to consult independently, make sound clinical decisions, and escalate appropriately.

  • Experience in risk assessments and safeguarding escalation.

  • Positive, proactive mindset with a commitment to service improvement.

  • Confident using digital tools and clinical systems.

It would be great if you also have

  • Formal training in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of adult ADHD.

  • Experience working in a newly established service.

  • Skills and experience in completing ADHD diagnostic assessments.

  • Enhanced maternity/paternity/adoption leave pay and gift card for anyone expecting or adopting a child

  • Flexible benefits scheme including option to buy additional holiday, discounted gym membership, life assurance, activity passes and much more.

  • Access to free, 24/7 counselling and support through TELUS Health, our Employee Assistance Programme.

We have a great range of benefits in addition to the above that offer flexibility to suit you - find out more at boots.jobs/rewards . Exclusions may apply, eligible roles only.
