Year 6 Teacher - Hounslow
We are seeking a confident, experienced, and motivated Year 6 Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Hounslow, starting as soon as possible. The Role
As a Year 6 Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum, with a strong focus on preparing pupils for SATs and their transition to secondary school. You will support pupils academically, socially, and emotionally, helping them build resilience, independence, and confidence.
You will work closely with teaching assistants, senior leaders, and parents to ensure that all pupils receive consistent support and make strong progress. Targeted interventions, accurate assessment, and high-quality teaching will be key aspects of this role.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 6 curriculum
Deliver engaging literacy, numeracy, and foundation subject lessons
Prepare pupils effectively for SATs and secondary school transition
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL
Promote independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours
Maintain a structured, inclusive, and focused classroom environment
Track pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records
Deliver targeted interventions to support pupil attainment
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress
Contribute to staff meetings, CPD, and whole-school initiatives
Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6
Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisation
Be calm, resilient, and adaptable under pressure
Show a clear commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing
Work effectively as part of a professional and supportive team
