Assistant Vice President - EMEA Regulatory Affairs

Skills and Competencies
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial services policy, regulation, government affairs, or a related field
- Experience drafting consultation responses, policy papers, regulatory filings, or equivalent analytical work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to distil complex policy issues into concise, actionable briefings
- Ability to build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external contacts at various levels of seniority
- Well-organised and able to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with credit rating agency regulation, capital markets policy, or related financial services frameworks preferred
- Familiarity with insurance regulatory issues preferred
- Existing network of contacts within government, regulatory, or industry circles preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency. Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions to solve business challenges. Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use
Education
- Bachelor's degree in law, public policy, economics, political science, finance, international relations, or a related discipline required
- Postgraduate qualification in law, public policy, economics, or a related discipline preferred
Responsibilities
The AVP, EMEA Regulatory Affairs supports Moody's Government, Public and Regulatory Affairs strategy across the EMEA region through stakeholder engagement, thought leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Support the SVP in managing relationships with EMEA regulators, governments, trade associations, and other relevant third parties; provide analytical support to expand coverage of insurance issues throughout the region, working with the VP for insurance regulatory affairs
- Prepare briefing materials, talking points, and background research ahead of senior-level external meetings and events; attend and, where appropriate, represent Moody's at industry forums, working groups, conferences, and stakeholder events
- Identify opportunities to engage with officials and stakeholders who influence the EMEA regulatory landscape and recommend engagement strategies to the SVP
- Contribute to thought leadership content that positions Moody's perspectives on topics of interest to EMEA policymakers and regulators; support the development of policy briefing documents, testimony, and other materials that advance Moody's objectives in the EMEA region
- Work closely with colleagues in Legal, Compliance, Communications, and the business lines to ensure regulatory positions are commercially informed and internally aligned
- Support the wider Government, Public and Regulatory Affairs team on cross-regional projects and initiatives as needed, especially in relation to insurance regulatory affairs
- Contribute to the global functioning of the Government, Public and Regulatory Affairs team by sharing insights on regulatory developments and participating in cross-regional coordination

Moody's Government, Public and Regulatory Affairs team is a global, strategic function within Global Corporate Affairs, reporting directly to the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer. The team is responsible for providing expertise in government relations, public policy, regulatory analysis, and geopolitical affairs that inform Moody's strategy, commercial activities, and risk management across all business lines and markets. The team shapes Moody's positions on regulatory policy worldwide, builds and maintains relationships with governments, regulators, and multilateral institutions, and advances thought leadership that strengthens Moody's reputation with policymakers. By joining our team, you will be part of high-impact work spanning EMEA and global markets, including emerging policy areas such as artificial intelligence, digital finance, insurance regulatory reform, and sustainable finance, where the team actively contributes to shaping Moody's forward-looking engagement strategy.
