Viber's legal department is growing and looking to add a bright, hands-on, business-oriented fintech legal counsel who is excited by technology and worldwide opportunities and is happy with a fast paced work atmosphere. This role will be part of a strong team focusing on the Company’s fintech oriented services.
We are offering a unique opportunity to be part of our Viber Pay strong team providing advice on a wide variety of legal matters, to the worldwide offices of the company, in connection with the global operations of the popular app.
Responsibilities:- Prepare, review, negotiate, and draft legal documents, agreements, policies and processes together with the supporting documents.
- Review new product functionality to ensure compliance with local laws.
- Partner with marketing and the commercial teams to support contests and partnerships.
- Provide contract advisory and interpretation.
- Perform legal research on a variety of legal topics related to the company's operations.
- Serve as the responsible person with regulators (including as Company Secretary) and be responsible, alongside the compliance team, to oversee performance of company’s plans in these fields, maintain policies, monitor compliance and evaluate effectiveness of risk mitigation measures.
- Assist with all tasks required to obtain required regulatory approvals and ensure the company complies with all requirements on an ongoing basis.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to company’s local operations and provide analysis of those which includes identifying gaps in company’s compliance.
- Data protection advisory.
- Experience of supporting product and feature launches.
REQUIREMENTS
- A licensed lawyer in Malta, EU or a common law jurisdiction.
- 2-5 years of experience working for a regulated financial entity or fintech company or experience in advising companies in the financial or fintech sectors as a lawyer.
- Experience of negotiating complex and high volume contracts and providing product legal advice.
- Working knowledge of regulatory requirements in the financial sector including PSD2, AMLD, DORA, RTS, etc.
- Fluent in English.
- Can do attitude and ability to prioritize under tight deadlines and pressure.
