The Opportunity:

We are looking for a solicitor qualified in England and Wales to join us as in-house Legal Counsel/Senior Counsel to support the Global General Counsel in managing the legal risks the business faces. The role will involve commercial legal advisory services across our entire UK business, with an emphasis on commercial contracts and vendor contracts. There will also likely be opportunities to work on matters in the other jurisdictions.

The Team:

You’ll report to our Global General Counsel, but you’ll be working collaboratively across all teams in the UK business, particularly: sales, product, privacy, marketing, risk and compliance.

What will you be doing?

• General commercial legal work including drafting and negotiating customer and vendor contracts, and working on product related issues
• Managing and maintaining the app and website terms of use and privacy notices etc
• Advising on new product launches from a legal perspective
• Developing and maintaining effective contract processes, contract management and precedent agreements and all relevant user documentation

What experience might you have?

• Have demonstrable post qualification experience gained in, or advising, a high-growth technology firm and working in a fast paced environment
• Have experience of drafting and negotiating commercial contracts (particularly client, partnership and supplier contracts) and drafting and maintaining website and app terms
• Have some experience of privacy related issues
• Have basic experience of regulation, including lending and payments, and a strong grasp of commercial matters
• Are able to explain legal issues in clear terms that are easily understood
• The ability to establish rapport easily both internally and externally and have excellent communication skills
• have low ego and are willing to do whatever tasks are needed to help make the Legal Team specifically, and Stream generally, a global success.

Within 1 month you’ll have:

• Gained a thorough understanding of the Stream business and regulatory environment
• Within 3 months you’ll have:
• Developed a great working relationship with the sales, product, privacy, risk and compliance teams
• Successfully taken the lead on multiple partner, client and supplier legal calls
• Within 6 months you’ll have:
• Reviewed and updated our precedent agreements and contract processes
• Become the go-to person for UK various legal matters (in particular client contracts)
• Helped implement and maintain our privacy program

Salary: Dependant on experience, salaries start from £115,000 + stocks

Working Policy: We operate a hybrid policy, with three days in the London office required.
