About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to lead the development and delivery of a new Financial Inclusion Strategy (FIS).
You will deliver on the H&F Plan 2023-2026 commitment to build local financial resilience for residents. Central to this will be helping residents make informed financial decisions, maximise their income, and access the advice and support they need. You will take a partnership-led approach, working closely with internal services, community groups and industry experts to help prevent unmanageable debt and promote long-term financial wellbeing for residents across the borough.
The new FIS will ensure that every resident, regardless of income or background, can access the financial tools, advice and support they need to thrive. By tackling financial exclusion, the council aims not only reduce poverty and problematic debt but also build a more resilient and fairer borough.
You will draw on your skills in research and data analytics to generate actionable insights, inform strategic decision-making, and evaluate the impact of financial inclusion initiatives, ensuring our approach is evidence-led and responsive to residents' needs. You will also be confident and personable in working with a diverse range of stakeholders, with the ability to bring people together to initiate and deliver lasting change.
This role offers the opportunity to create real-world positive impacts for residents across the borough. You will accelerate the strategy by leveraging existing resources and fostering partnerships to deliver targeted, evidence-based support and tangible impacts. At the same time, you will ensure your priority projects and implementation plan align well with wider council aims and initiatives, such as the council’s Digital Inclusion Strategy.
You will have excellent communication skills, and be skilled in delivering influential reports, presentations and engagement exercises at pace. You will report regularly to senior managers, the Cost-of Living Working group, and the Cabinet Member on progress.
