DT Teacher – Lead Workshop Safety and Drive Precision Manufacturing and Design in Resistant Materials – Havering
A high-achieving academy in Havering is seeking an experienced DT Teacher with a specialization in Resistant Materials and advanced prototyping skills from January 2026.
- DT Teacher (Resistant Materials) required from January 2026.
- Havering-based school with an outstanding Sixth Form and focus on creative technology.
- Ideal for a teacher with expertise in precision manufacturing, materials science, and workshop safety .
You will teach DT across KS3-KS5, with a significant leadership role in the KS4/5 Resistant Materials curriculum. The role involves designing and managing challenging design-and-make projects and maintaining specialist workshop resources.
Experience and Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status ( QTS ) and a relevant degree in Design Technology or Engineering.
- Proven success in achieving high grades at GCSE and A-Level Resistant Materials.
- Expertise in teaching CAD/CAM and managing workshop equipment (e.g., lathes, pillar drills).
- Commitment to running extra-curricular design and engineering clubs.
