Year 4 Teacher - Merton
A welcoming primary school in Merton is seeking an enthusiastic Year 4 Teacher to join their Key Stage 2 phase from January 2026. The successful Year 4 Teacher will plan and deliver ambitious, carefully sequenced learning that develops pupils’ fluency in reading, writing and maths. This Year 4 Teacher role in Merton will involve close teamwork with phase leaders and colleagues across the school to secure strong outcomes for all pupils.

• Year 4 Teacher to join a motivated and collaborative KS2 team
The appointed Year 4 Teacher will be expected to lead class teaching, run targeted small-group support and contribute to curriculum development. Responsibilities
- Plan and teach well-structured Year 4 lessons that show clear progression.
- Use assessment to identify gaps and implement timely, evidence-informed support.
- Lead small-group work and support pupils to deepen understanding and fluency.
- Collaborate with colleagues to moderate standards and refine medium-term plans.
- Maintain regular, constructive communication with parents and carers.
Person specification
- Qualified teacher with recent, successful classroom experience in KS2.
- Strong subject knowledge across English and mathematics and confident curriculum practice.
- Effective behaviour management, excellent organisational skills and a reflective approach.
- A collaborative team-player who will contribute positively to the school community in Merton.
- Able to begin duties in January 2026 and willing to be based in Merton.
